A catamaran day with no snorkel
SeaLink Whitsundays sells this day as sightseeing and beach time, and says so in the fare: snorkeling and diving are not part of it. That is what makes it different. You are not rushed off the boat into a stinger suit. The whole day is the view, the walk and the sand.
The boat is the other difference. A large catamaran sits flat on the water, and one reviewer said it barely rocked. There is an air-conditioned cabin, standard and accessible toilets on board, and a rooftop deck for the islands. From Shute Harbour through Cid Harbour and Hook Passage
The route is part of the fare. The catamaran leaves Shute Harbour at 9am and passes the Molle Islands. It crosses the Whitsunday Passage into Cid Harbour, on the western side of Whitsunday Island, where the crew tell the story of the islands. Then it runs past Nara Inlet and through Hook Passage, round the top of the island, and anchors at Tongue Point.
